Resin Car Works update

Frank Hodina and Pete Hall in conversation at the RPM.

It’s been quite a year for Resin Car Works. Frank Hodina and the RCW minions are taking a break. All kit production and order fulfillment are on hold for a couple of months.

We did catch up on instructions for the CNJ box car kit that was released at the RPM.

We sold out of these kits at the event. Instructions and additional files are now available to help you build the kits on this Extras page on the RCW website. Our apologies for the delay in rounding up these files.

When Frank returns this CNJ kit will become available and will be announced on the blog. A few other kits are in process and we hope those will be released as 2024 rolls along. We thank you for your patience!

  1. I find it rather disappointing, that in the instructions section, photo credit was omitted. Some may NOT contribute as much as the late Bill Welch, but I still contributed when I was reached out to the RCW minion’s. This holiday season we as resinators, past and present should reflect, on those who keep the hobby moving forward. This is the third resin kit producer that I have helped to some degree, and found 2 out of 3 have forgotten my efforts. It wasn’t till I sent along some images, that the “B” end of this car could be modeled correctly. The color photos, were never published, let alone left out of my personal collection.

  2. That’s a nice car, but it’s too late for my railroad. I would love to see this car produced in its 1926 “as built” version. HO scale, please.

  3. Enjoy your time off. Would love to see some of your products in O scale (P:48).

    Thanks,
    Nate
