RPM Conference update

We are two months away from the 2023 RPM Conference in Naperville, IL. The dates are October 27 & 28 and the event will be held in the Northern Illinois University Naperville campus conference center (seen in the lead photo). Registrations have been strong. We hope you are making plans to attend.

We have 33 speakers on the schedule, with many presenting their topics twice. Twenty vendors are attending, several will display new and pending models. The Friday night social has been popular with registrants and there will be a few layouts to see. Two layouts will be set up in the event center and a couple home layouts will be open for limited visits. Current details are outlined on the webpage. Click on Clinics, Vendors, etc., for additional details.

Advance registration is $50 and the Friday night social is a $43 extra fare. The registration cost will increase after September 30. You can use PayPal to register, or you can download the PDF registration file, print it out, fill it out, and send a check along. Links and more details are on our Registration webpage.

Don’t forget, the first 100 registrants receive a Resin Car Works HO scale mini-kit gift. Only a few remain! The parts will convert a Tichy USRA rebuilt box car to a Wabash version of the rebuild. New centersills and ends are the main components.

There are several hotels nearby with a range of prices. Room costs between $100 and $120 a night have been reported. Share a room with a modeling friend to cut your costs! Click here for a Google Maps link to see the event location and the nearby hotels.

Please bring some models to display! The new facility has plenty of space and great lighting. Completed and in-process work, in any scale, are welcome. I hope to see you in Naperville for the RPM Conference!

More RPM events

If you can’t make the RPM Conference in Naperville, there are several RPM events in the next couple of months. The Mid-Atlantic RPM (MARPM) is up next on the calendar and has a strong line up of presentations. The Anthracite Railroad Modelers Meet is the same weekend in Pennsylvania. RPM events in North Carolina, Oregon, Ohio, Illinois, and Kansas round out the year. Take a look at the RPM Calendar to find more info and links for these events.

  1. Any chance the Wabash conversion kit will be available to those that can’t attend? I’d like to have one or two.

    Thanks
