George Toman submitted notes on his work building a reefer kit. Here’s his story.
I have always liked colorful reefers seen in freight trains or reefer blocks. Fruit Growers Express, Pacific Fruit Express, Santa Fe Refrigerator Despatch, and many others have caught my eye. When Yarmouth Model Works released their attractive Armour reefer, I could not resist.
Another prototype has been found for the Resin Car Works Enterprise design, 33-foot, offset-side, twin hopper kit. Decal art has been produced and we can announce a new addition to the line! Kit 2.04 covers the Escanaba & Lake Superior hoppers.

Resin Car Works honcho Frank Hodina was recently alerted to a prototype hopper that matched the RCW model for the Enterprise design, 33-foot, offset-side, twin hopper that has been in production for a while. Here’s a June 2015 email from Bill Welch. We were discussing blog posts and he sent this along. It wasn’t published because he wanted to finish the tank car.
I will start out with a digression. Apparently, I am becoming a Tool Guy as I seem obsessed with airbrushes. I now own six of them including the Binks Wren I purchased over 50 years ago and the Harbor Freight airbrush I purchased recently with a 20% coupon for $16.49.
