The Owens-Illinois Duraglas covered hopper cars have been a bit of a fascination of mine for many years. My layout has the Streator, Illinois, bottle plant as an industry and Chet French found many of these cars coming in on the Wabash hauling soda. Where they were loaded would be great to find out.

Soo and DSS&A Square Corner box car kit

Resin Car Works announces their third HO scale freight car kit; Pullman-Standard, Square-Corner box cars built in 1940 and 1941 for the Soo Line and the Duluth, South Shore, & Atlantic railroads. These are a very limited run full kit to build and detail a complete model for service on your railroad.

These limited run kits are $36, plus shipping. Decals are included. Trucks and couplers are not included. Visit the Resin Car Works website for more details.

All of these freight car kits are recent projects. Not all of these are resin kits but some are kit bashed with resin parts. The lead photo here is of Canadian National 472966, a 10-foot interior height InterMountain (formerly Red Caboose) kit with Sylvan Hutchins roof and NSC-1 ends.
