Progress has been made on my Rib Side Cars Milwaukee Road automobile boxcar. I had the car mostly complete at St Louis RPM and since have primed and painted as MILW 6582. The lead image shows the model in primer and paint.

Georgia Railroad rebuilt boxcars

Jim Brewer recently shared photos of his latest resin kit builds on the Resin Freight Car Builders discussion list. Here’s Jim with details on his models.

I recently completed building two HO scale 40-foot, rebuilt steel boxcars that follow Georgia Railroad prototypes. These are old Sunshine Models kits. Georgia 39441 seen above is kit #64.83 with a diagonal panel roof.

St. Louis RPM summary

The recent St. Louis RPM meet was well attended with more than 650 through the doors. Additionally, there were nearly 3000 wonderful models displayed. Bill Welch sent along his thoughts on the meet with a few photos. Links to photo galleries are posted at the end. Here’s Bill!

Here is my take on what I saw and heard at the St. Louis RPM. Bob’s Photo had about 20 binders that he characterized as new photos, both color and B&W, in addition to his usual array of old milk crates of photos sorted by railroad.

SFRD reefer kits

Santa Fe Refrigerator Department reefers are the latest Resin Car Works HO scale freight car kit! A total of 1,360 SFRD rebuilds in the RR-35, -36, -39, and -40 classes were added in the mid-1940s. This new kit reflects these prototypes. Decals were created directly from prototype images. Tahoe Models #012 USRA 50-ton Andrews sideframes are provided in the kit.

Kit updates

In other Resin Car Works kit news, the CB&Q XM-32 AAR 40-foot steel boxcar (Kit 8.01) is again available. Our decal supply has been replenished and kits are shipping for those orders that had been on hand.

Our AC&F Type 27, 10,000-gallon, insulated tank car kits (Kit 6.0) are no longer available. All of our formerly available kits can be found on this webpage. Click on any of those model names or images to access the original information pages plus the links to the kit Extras pages.
