George Toman shares his progress on a special HO scale model. Here are his notes.
While attending the 2017 RPM Chicagoland meet I received a mini-kit for a Chicago Great Western 40-foot boxcar. This car had proprietary Pullman-Standard “Carbuilder” corrugated round corner ends that were once available from the late Stan Rydarowicz. The car ends were made special for this min-kit by using new technology to create the masters for this kit. The new semi-scale coupler box parts are also included. These are made to fit the semi-scale Kadee #158 whisker coupler.

Bill Welch sent a recent update with these photos. Here’s the scoop from Bill.
I am going to really try to not start any new models this year until I finish several of the many projects I have underway. Here is a step toward completing a Savannah & Atlanta ex-FEC rebuilt boxcar using styrene and Westerfield parts.
The model will be completed with one door open to reveal the wood interior. The floor is individual boards that have been distressed. PanPastels and colored pencils will be used to age the interior.
I started this project years ago but am embarrassed to admit how many.

Here’s a progress peek at an upcoming Resin Car Works kit. These are parts for an HO scale SFRD Rr-35/36/39/40 reefer kit. Tom Madden has been casting these and the parts are looking great. And yes, that is a one-piece body. The reefer will be one of several kits RCW has planned for 2018.
Better start clearing some space on your workbench!
