Resin Car Works has added a new mini-kit. The parts and decals can be used to build an HO scale Santa Fe Fe-26 class automobile box car.
Pullman-Standard built 500 prototypes in 1945. They were installed in the 64200-64699 number series. The cars have a distinctive fishbelly center sill with double-doors covering a 14-foot wide door opening.
The mini-kit includes a sheet of resin details, and a set of decals. A limited supply of the CB&T box car kits for this conversion are available. More details and the order form are available on the Resin Car Works kits page. The mini-kits are listed near the bottom of the page.
This will be the last Resin Car Works mini-kit for the foreseeable future.

This was the Cocoa Beach Shake n Take project for 2023. It’s great to see it’s wider availability. It actually got its start as one of the last projects suggested by Greg Martin, RIP.
I believe it’s kit #400, double door, Murphy rectangular panel roof, 4/4 ends. There are several other CBT double door kit versions, but they all have R+3/4r ends.
What CB&T kit is required? Wanna check my stash to see if I already have one and, if so, I’ll need to get these parts!
Chris, a C&BT Shops AAR 40-foot double-door box car kit is the base for these resin parts. I do not have a kit number but I don’t recall much design variation on that C&BT Shops kit. – Eric H.
