Resin Car Works announces their second freight car kit, an Illinois Central, Enterprise design, 33-foot, offset-side, twin hopper. From 1937 to 1949, 12,000 of these offset-side twin hoppers were manufactured for the Illinois Central by a variety of builders, including the railroad itself.

These are fleet builder kits with cast on grab irons to minimize the time and effort to get these models into service on your railroad. The kits are $36, plus shipping. Trucks and couplers are not included. A United States Army version is also available. Visit the Resin Car Works website for more details.

As 2015 winds down, we would like to keep you informed as to “what’s happening” at Resin Car Works.

The Hooker acid tank car (Kit 1.05) is sold out as the decal stock is gone. Almost 50 of these kits were sold. That’s ten times the number of prototype cars that were built. The remaining acid tank car kits are available but can’t be shipped until we’re restocked with brass detail parts. With luck we’ll be shipping kits before Christmas. An update will be posted when these kits are being shipped again. We expect the limited stock of these kits to sell quickly.

Resin Car Works new kit!

Resin Car Works announces a new kit to kick off their Scene Setters line focused on once common elements that weren’t far from the tracks. These simple kits can enhance a scene on your model railroad. The first Scene Setter kit represents an iconic Midwest structure, a round corrugated metal grain bin.

The prototypes began with a government grain storage program in the 1930s and thousands of these grain bins were installed in towns across the Midwest.

The Resin Car Works HO scale model is a one piece resin casting and will only need to be painted before it is set into a scene on your railroad. Four grain bins are included for only $36, plus postage and handling. Check out some completed model photographs and review the kit instructions on our website.

Resin Car Works has several of the acid tank car kits in stock, but supplies are getting very low. A new freight car kit is also nearing completion. We hope to share more news very soon on this exciting HO scale model.
